Please tell me your Apple Watch model and its watchOS version (and the iPhone's iOS version if it is about the iPhone app), and what you were doing when it happened. That is usually enough for me to reproduce the problem.

Common questions

I don't feel the tap when the rest ends.

Fityt's alert is a notification, so first check that notifications are allowed. On your iPhone, open the Watch app, then Notifications › Fityt, and make sure they are on. While they are off, Fityt's main screen on the watch shows a warning.

Fityt's alerts are marked Time Sensitive. If you use a Focus, such as Do Not Disturb or Fitness, look in that Focus's settings on your iPhone and check whether it allows notifications from Fityt, or Time Sensitive notifications. That choice belongs to the Focus, not to Fityt.

If you expected a sound, see "Is there a sound?" below.

The watch goes back to the clock during my rest.

By default the watch returns to the clock about two minutes after you lower your wrist. To keep Fityt on screen through a longer rest, open Settings › General › Return to Clock › Fityt on the watch, choose Custom, then After 1 hour. The same steps are in Fityt's first-launch screens and in the Tips section of the iPhone app.

You can also add the Fityt complication to your watch face, or the widget to the Smart Stack, to get back to Fityt with one tap.

How do I stop a rest or silence reminders?

Tap End, the button near the top of the watch screen while a rest is running or the time is up. Touching and holding the big button for about a second does the same. Either one stops the timer and any reminders, and Fityt goes back to ready. Starting a new rest also replaces the reminders of the earlier one.

How do I restart a rest, or undo a restart?

Tap the button while a rest is counting down and it starts over with the mode's full time. For the next 5 seconds an Undo button is on screen; tap it and the earlier rest comes back exactly as it was.

Where do I edit modes?

On your iPhone. Open Fityt there to add, rename, reorder and delete modes, and to set each one's rest time, from 0:15 to 10:00. Changes go to your watch on their own; there is no send button. If the watch is not connected at that moment, they arrive once it is.

The watch only chooses a mode, it does not create or edit them. The order on the iPhone is the order of the Digital Crown.

How do I switch modes on the watch?

While Fityt is ready, or showing that the time is up, turn the Digital Crown. You can also tap the mode's name at the top to see the list. A mode you pick during a rest is shown as "Next" and used for the next start; the rest that is running does not change.

Is there a sound?

Only if you turn it on. In the iPhone app, open the Alerts section and switch on Sound. It is off by default, so out of the box the alert is a tap on your wrist. The setting covers the end of the rest and the repeat reminders; the 10-second warning has no sound. If your watch is in Silent Mode, no sound plays.

What do "Remind again" and the 10-second warning do?

Both are in the iPhone app's Alerts section, and both are off by default. The warning gives a lighter tap 10 seconds before a rest ends, for rests of 30 seconds or longer. Remind again repeats the end-of-rest tap every 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute or 2 minutes, until you tap End or start a new rest. Once the reminders start, Fityt's screen (and the complication) turns from orange to red. If you do nothing, the time-is-up screen goes back to ready by itself after 10 minutes.

Does it work with Apple Workout?

Yes. Fityt does not record workouts and never starts a workout of its own, so it does not take the place of the session Apple's Workout app runs, and it cannot end it. It does not read from or write to Apple Health either.

Does my iPhone need to be nearby?

Not during a workout. The watch keeps your modes and settings and schedules its own alerts, so it keeps working when the iPhone is in a locker or at home. You only need the iPhone to change modes and settings.

Does Fityt collect any data?

No. There is no account, no analytics and no network access. The privacy policy has the details.
